Esther Zippel

Consultant (EMAS advisory board)
Esther Zippel is responsible for marketing, PR and communication activities of the EMAS advisory board (UGA). She also advises organisations and stakeholders about EMAS.
In the context of the committee and project activities she communicates with national and international institutions, such as the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, the Federal Environment Agency, the European Commission and the European EMAS Helpdesk. She also ensures that the environmental management system of the UGA office is implemented and maintained in accordance with the requirements of the EMAS regulation.
Esther Zippel graduated with a degree in Agricultural Science from the Rheinische-Friedrich-Wilhelms University of Bonn. After her studies among other things she was responsible for the development and publication of the weekly published organic information leaflet “ÖKOMARKT” at the ZMP Zentrale Markt- und Preisberichtstelle für Erzeugnisse der Land-, Forst- und Ernährungswirtschaft GmbH. Before joining adelphi, she worked as a project manager for QS – Qualität und Sicherheit GmbH, where she was responsible for the communication between experts, benchmarking and coordination of the residue monitoring.
The UGA is legally obliged to participate in the interpretation and application of the Environmental Audit Act and to advise the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) in matters of the European Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS). The team of UGA office organisationally and professionally assists the Board, implements its work decisions and measures to further promote EMAS.
This includes inter alia the nationwide networking with institutions having a seat within the board (industry/enterprises, trade unions, environmental associations/non-governmental organisations (NGOs), federal/state administration departments, environmental verifiers), representing the interests of UGA to the outside, the cooperation with institutions of the European Commission and the Member States to deal with EMAS, the development of user-friendly implementation tools of the EMAS regulation, the public communication and public relations work for EMAS, and the maintenance of websites www.uga.de, www.emas.de, and www.wir-fuer-emas.de. adelphi is provider of this office.
