Veit Moosmayer has been Managing Director of the German EMAS Advisory Board´s office (UGA) since 2008.

Before joining the UGA, he worked for four years in the State Forest Administration of Baden-Württemberg and the University of Freiburg. He specialized in environmental management and spent many years as a consultant focusing on environmental, safety and quality management. He supervised companies and public institutions on their way to certification according to EMAS, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 and held classes at universities and training courses for the IHK. The UGA is legally obliged to participate in the interpretation and application of the Environmental Audit Act and to advise the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) in matters of the European Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS). The team of UGA office organisationally and professionally assists the Board, implements its work decisions and measures to further promote EMAS.

This includes inter alia the nationwide networking with institutions having a seat within the board (industry/enterprises, trade unions, environmental associations/non-governmental organisations (NGOs), federal/state administration departments, environmental verifiers), representing the interests of UGA to the outside, the cooperation with institutions of the European Commission and the Member States to deal with EMAS, the development of user-friendly implementation tools of the EMAS regulation, the public communication and public relations work for EMAS, and the maintenance of websites www.uga.de, www.emas.de, and www.wir-fuer-emas.de. adelphi is provider of this office.
