Nanne Zwagerman is a Senior Manager Business Development at adelphi and works in business and project development. He develops project proposals for national and international research programmes, bi- and multilateral aid programmes and for national and Europe-wide environmental action and climate action programmes. Furthermore, he coordinates the entire bidding process at adelphi, from identifying relevant projects through to concluding contracts.
In the past six years at adelphi, Nanne Zwagerman has been involved in the area of business development, which includes the entire spectrum of adelphi’s work. As such, he has contributed to the development and expansion of the institution’s topical and methodological expertise. He has concluded successful tenders in the areas of the environment, corporate social responsibility, sustainability management, international development work, renewable energy, energy efficiency, as well as climate change adaptation and climate action. Moreover, he has developed and refined internal instruments and processes in the area of business development.
He is currently focused on developing consortium-based research projects and on coordinating the bidding for national and international consulting projects. In addition, together with the business development team, he oversees adelphi’s involvement in frame contracts and is responsible for establishing primary contact with clients and partners regarding new projects. Nanne Zwagerman is certified by Capacity WORKS.
Before his role in business development, Nanne Zwagerman was involved in international environmental policy at adelphi, as well as international development work, policy diffusion, climate change and environmental technology. In addition, he gained practical experience as a student assistant in the Resource Economy department at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Furthermore, on behalf of a Dutch foundation, he developed a guide for legal procedures in the field of nature conservation, and also wrote for an online blogging competition. Moreover, he planned and co-produced advertising strategies for a marketing company.
Nanne Zwagerman studied Dutch Law, specialising in environmental law and environmental planning law at the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. In 2009 he completed an interdisciplinary master’s degree in Public and Corporate Environmental Management at Freie Universität Berlin.
