Sophia Hibler works as a Project Assistant in the field of resource efficiency and waste management. Her work focuses on research in the management of plastic waste in India.
Before joining adelphi, Sophia Hibler gained practical experience in the field of international cooperation. With BORDA, a German NGO committed to provide sanitation and clean water, she worked in Zambia on a research project on biological water purification, a sustainable waste management strategy, and a study on different operating models on facilities that manage faecal sludge. At TU Berlin, she planned and coordinated projects for students working on the innovative use of organic water filters.
Sophia Hibler studies environmental planning and landscape architecture, with a focus on ecology and planning, at TU Berlin. For her thesis, she dealt with elevated arsenic concentrations in water and researched cleansing methods by aquatic plants. She carried out the fieldwork for her work in Argentina. During another stay abroad in the United States, she gained extensive experience in the field of ecosystem and wildlife management.
