Sophia Stock is a Research Analyst specialising in energy efficiency, resource efficiency, waste management and climate protection. She currently provides support for the National Top Runner Initiative (NTRI), a project run by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) that promotes energy-efficient products. Sophia also helps develop country studies and designs, and organises international conferences.
Before joining adelphi, Sophia worked in development cooperation and international consulting. In the ‘Central and East Asia’ unit of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), she dealt with development and energy issues in Central Asia. At GOPA Consultants and a&d consult, Sophia acquired experience in the international consulting industry, including the preparation of project proposals. Her work focussed primarily on projects related to education and employment. Prior to that, Sophia worked in peace and international cooperation at the Robert Bosch Stiftung.
Sophia completed the master's program in political science at the University of Potsdam. Her master's thesis examined the causes of urban water crises, with a focus on the São Paulo metropolitan area in Brazil. Prior to that, she earned a degree in European studies at the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. Sophia spent a semester abroad at the Universidade do Porto in Portugal as part of her undergraduate program.
