Organised by the Mexican National Institute of Ecology (INE) and InWEnt – Capacity Building International, and supported by adelphi’s Dennis Taenzler and Aki Kachi, this event aims to develop concrete policy recommendations for the international climate negotiations. The Forum upon last year’s event on sustainable energy use in SMEs held in New Delhi, India, and extends the focus to include the use of sustainable energies in larger industries with a special focus on the productive use of renewable energies. Key aspects to be addressed include appropriate policy-measures and frameworks to promote low-carbon technologies in industries, as well as low carbon strategies.
Anchor countries hold a key role in this regard – due to their growing significance, they have been influencing the direction of international politics to a greater extent. These states also exercise a considerable economic and political influence on their neighbouring countries. The dialogue series takes this into account and brings together experts and representatives from the research, industry and public sectors of Mexico, Brazil, South Africa, China, Egypt, India and Germany.
