Companies today are required to meet their responsibilities with regard to human rights. adelphi is currently examining whether and how the state can support German businesses in this area.
The findings from the study "Corporate Responsibility for Human Rights", conducted by the Berlin think-tank on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS), will be used to create practice-oriented recommendations. To this end, adelphi is consulting companies and other stakeholders to establish what kind of guidance they expect from the state with regard to corporate responsibility for human rights. Together with its project partners, adelphi is also conducting a number of international case studies to examine how other governments support companies in these matters.
The study is based on the UN's Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, which provide a global framework for corporate responsibility for human rights.
