Emissions trading in Cancun: Latest development around the world

The International Carbon Action Partnership (ICAP) will host a side event titled “Recent Developments and Prospects for ETS Around the World” at the UN climate change conference COP16 in Cancún, Mexico, on Monday, 6 December 2010, 6 - 8 PM.

The event will present ICAP activities aimed at contributing to the establishment of a well functioning global carbon market as well as the development of compatible domestic and regional emissions trading systems (ETS). In addition, international experts from Germany and New York will provide an overview of recent developments in existing ETS while experts from Kazakhstan, Mexico and China will present and discuss the prospects for emissions trading in their countries. adelphi provided assistance in conceptualizing and organizing the event.
