Energy-saving production does more than just contribute to environmental protection and climate mitigation - just as much benefit can be found in reduced energy costs. With the new guide "Energie sparen mit System", adelphi is supporting the establishment of alternative energy management systems.
Energy-saving production methods serve not only to protect the environment and natural resources. For small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in the manufacturing sector, systematic energy management is a smart move in cost terms and crucial in terms of competitiveness. However, chief executives and energy managers often lack an overview of the legal framework as well as expedient instructions required for the systematic construction of individual energy management systems. In order to simplify the first steps, adelphi has developed the guide "Energie sparen mit System" (title translated: Saving energy systematically).
This practical guide takes up the requirements of the Energy Tax Cap and Energy Efficiency System Regulations (SpaEfV) and provides incremental guidance on how to develop and implement an alternative energy management system. For this purpose, it begins with the legal regulations that are relevant for electricity and energy tax benefits as well as the EEG surcharge. In addition, it also explains which formalities must be observed in relation to electricity tax refunds.
In order to simplify the introduction of alternative energy management systems, each chapter contains useful checklists and tables. The guide even goes beyond SpaEfV specifications and provides several useful recommendations that companies can use to continuously monitor and improve their reductions in energy consumption and costs. Furthermore, the guide provides an overview of the requirements for energy audits in accordance with DIN EN 16247 and the international standard ISO 50001, comparing them with those for an alternative energy management system.
"Energie sparen mit System" was developed as part of the programme "CSR: Corporate Social Responsibility for SMEs" and funded by the German Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS) and the European Social Fund. The guide is supplemented with a practical software solution, which covers a large part of the mandatory documentation and evaluation.
The guide also provides the basis for the three-part online course series "Energy Management for Beginners" which adelphi offers free of charge in November 2014. More information on these consultancy opportunities and individual course dates can be found on the following website (German): www.kmu-energiemanagement.de
