What is the potential for the provision of services and the production of technological components for solar energy in Tunisia? Together with two partners, adelphi will identify key industries and companies that could significantly contribute to the value chain in solar energy.
The study comprises a detailed analysis of the markets and value chains of photovoltaic (PV), concentrated solar power (CSP) and solar heat (water heating systems). Based on this analysis, a survey of 100 to 150 enterprises from all relevant sectors is conducted to assess the companies’ technological and financial capacities. Subsequently, companies, that are particularly promising with regard to the production of solar energy components, will be visited on-site and in-depth interviewed about their innovation strategies, research needs and international cooperation. Based on the results of the survey, the project partners will develop recommendations and an action plan for policy makers and stakeholders from economy and industry in order to better exploit the potentials of solar energy – by the production of solar energy components for the Tunisian market as well as for export.
The project will be implemented in cooperation with the Wuppertal Institut and Ernst&Young as local partner in Tunisia.
