With the brochure "Klimaschutz in Zahlen" (Climate mitigation by the numbers) the German Federal Government is providing information on its climate mitigation targets and the current status of emissions reduction. It is aimed at the general public and presents German climate policy in a vivid way.
In order to make the progress of German climate policy more accessible to the public, adelphi has – on behalf of and in cooperation with the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) – prepared information on current developments in climate protection. "Klimaschutz in Zahlen - Fakten, Trends und Impulse deutscher Klimapolitik" (German only; translated title: “Climate mitigation by the numbers – facts, trends and impulses in German climate policy") presents both the German Federal Government’s and the European Union’s climate mitigation targets, and further outlines the overall policy framework. In addition, the brochure shows how emissions have developed in various sectors in Germany, and what has been achieved in this regard in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency.
In particular, journalists, teachers and students will find answers to their questions on the federal government’s climate policy in "Climate protection by the numbers – facts, trends and impulses in German climate policy". The most important data and facts have been clearly prepared by the authors, providing an easy-to-understand overview of various aspects of this complex issue. adelphi conceptualised this new publication for the BMUB and assumed the editorship for "Climate change by the numbers". Going forward, this new information package will be updated on an annual basis.
