With the conduction of the last training seminar on energy efficient building envelope in Rabat, Morocco, adelphi successfully completes a one-year training programme on energy efficiency in buildings for multipliers from Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria. On behalf of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), adelphi – in cooperation with Technische Hochschule Wildau and iproplan Planungsgesellschaft – designed and conducted a number of seven practical training seminars in Germany and the Maghreb region.
The objective of the training programme was to improve the vocational training capacities in the field of energy efficient buildings in the three Maghreb countries. The group of participants consisted in engineers and technicians working for vocational training institutions, companies and institutions from the building and construction industry as well as engineering firms in Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia that are expected to act as multipliers. The focus of all training seminars was on the energy efficient building envelope. Among others, the topics covered included structural-physical basic principles, software applications for the assessment of the thermal characteristics of buildings and basic principles of the thermal simulation of buildings. Additionally, participants had the opportunity to gain practical experience in the application and installation of heat insulation in buildings. The practical training sessions and lectures were complemented by excursions and expert visits.
