adelphi on behalf of GTZ supported local industries in Madurai, India while implementing cleaner production measures and developing a concept for decentralised treatment of waste water from metal finishing industries. This project supported the visionary and holistic concept of providing environmental infrastructure services for SME clusters which are worldwide known for generating sector specific environmental pollution. The city of Madurai had been selected by the Indian Government as the pilot location for the electroplating industry.
