Sustainable enterprises that align social and environmental benefits with economic performance have the potential to play a vital role in achieving sustainable development. adelphi implemented a half-day workshop in Oran, Algeria to raise awareness and build capacity among young Algerian entrepreneurs concerning sustainable entrepreneurship. The training was organised in the framework of the GIZ project DEVED in Algeria which aims at improving the competitiveness of MSMEs as well as creating new jobs for young people.
The introductory training demonstrated the importance of taking into account social and environmental aspects when setting up a company and opportunities lying ahead. It exposed case studies of successful social and environmental entrepreneurs and provided practical tools to integrate triple bottom line planning within the company.
