National dialogue process on consumption and production 2007 – 2008

In February 2004, the Federal Environment Ministry and the Federal Environment Office initiated the national dialogue process to help promote sustainable consumption and production models. It provided a cross-protagonist platform for reaching agreements on goals and innovative measures to support sustainability in consumption and production and helped to network already existing approaches and initiatives and encourage experience exchanges.

The national dialogue process focused mainly on two event formats. In informal technical dialogues, innovative initiatives, products and services were identified and new approaches drafted and developed together, which were presented at a national conference to a broad specialist audience and opened up for discussion.

adelphi was responsible for designing the content and implementing, organising and documenting these events, as well as project coordination. adelphi also managed the editorial and technical content of the project’s own website and created the bi-monthly newsletter on the national dialogue process.
