Project assessment on capacity building for geothermal energy in Rwanda

The German Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR) commissioned adelphi to survey a proposal for a geothermal assessment and capacity building project in Rwanda. adelphi was tasked to review whether the project proposal, submitted by the Rwandan Ministry of Infrastructure (MINIFRA), was feasible and of relevance to development policy.

In the framework of this contract, adelphi moderated a workshop in Kigali at which representatives from MINIFRA and other Rwandan institutions jointly developed milestones, indicators, activities and a timetable for the implementation of the proposed three-year project. Moreover, adelphi prepared a report for the BGR on background information and workshop results, including a project outline with milestones and an implementation timetable.
