Supporting the Partnership for Sustainable Textiles with the revision of short videos on chemicals management

Chemicals management is an important component of sustainability management in the textile industry, as chemicals play an important role in the production of fibres, wet finishing, and finishing of textiles. However, improper selection and misuse of chemicals can pose a risk to the environment and the health of workers.

As part of an effort to promote sustainable production in the international textile and clothing industry, the Parternship for Sustainable Textiles, initiated by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), aims to achieve social, ecological and economic improvements along the entire textile supply chain. In this context, the prevention of hazardous chemicals and their general safe handling are an important focus of the joint initiative by industry, government and civil society. The Partnership for Sustainable Textiles (PST), coordinated by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on behalf of BMZ, uses various communication tools and approaches to better reach decision-makers and implementers at various levels of the textiles value chain.
