Energiewende und Außenpolitik: Gestaltungsmacht auf dem Prüfstand

The German energy transition also affects key areas of foreign policy. Among them are the international climate negotiations with the aim to agree on a global climate agreement until 2015. Moreover, the conditions need to be shaped for a sustainable global energy supply which currently still lacks an appropriate governance framework. To ensure a successful energy transition, foreign policy engagement is needed that supports an ambitious target setting process and the establishment of a harmonized mix of instruments at EU and at the global level.
