Energizing transatlantic relations in a Post-Fukushima world is the focus of the new edition of CONNECTED – a newsletter from adelphi and the Worldwatch Institute to support the Transatlantic Climate Bridge
With CONNECTED, partners adelphi and Worldwatch Institute, are supporting the Transatlantic Climate Bridge. This initiative was launched by the German Federal Government to foster cooperation with the U.S. on climate and energy at the national, state and local levels. In the last years the initiative has promoted numerous activities by public authorities, the private sector, civil society, and academia in order to strengthen climate protection and energy security.
The quarterly newsletter CONNECTED showcases and reviews policy and research initiatives that are aimed at low-emissions development. Read now the second edition for an op-ed on ways how transatlantic cooperation can serve as an important engine for international initiatives such as the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM), as well as an interview with Philip D. Murphy, U.S. Ambassador to Germany, and Klaus Scharioth, Germany's ambassador to the United States. The ambassadors point out how transatlantic climate diplomacy fosters mutual learning and can support innovation in important areas such as electric vehicles and mobility.
