With its “Green Economy Agenda Process”, The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is developing a new research agenda for the green economy model. In cooperation with the Borderstep Institute, adelphi is supporting the process with a study on potentials, driving forces and constraints in the transformation of the German economy to a green economy.
Together with stakeholders from industry, research, society and politics, the BMBF wishes to identify new areas of research and innovation for the transformation to a green economy, and to determine possible spheres of activity to advance these innovations. In a background study, adelphi together with its partnering institution is analysing the international market potential for innovative technologies and services in the areas of housing, mobility and food, and is identifying key cross-market innovations for the transformation to a green economy.
adelphi will also highlight the existing national and international political frameworks for supporting key innovations, in order to establish areas where action is needed, or might be possible. The think tank is building on the results of previous studies, i.e. on the opportunities and potential of green future markets, on the ecological modernisation of the German economy (Federal Environment Agency), and on the comparative analysis of international sustainability strategies in politics and industry (BMBF).
