Victor Alejandro Ortiz Rivera is a Research Analyst at adelphi working on emissions trading systems and international climate policy. At the Secretariat of the International Carbon Action Partnership (ICAP), Victor focuses on current carbon pricing developments in Latin America and uses his solid data analysis skills to understand the coverage of GHG emissions in jurisdictions with carbon pricing.
Prior to joining adelphi, he worked on informing Mexican environmental policy discussion and on organizing non-formal learning courses on the Bloomington School of Political Economy from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Furthermore, he worked on promoting the UN Sustainable Development Goals from his NGO.
In completion of his Master’s degree in Public Policy at the Hertie School, Victor wrote his thesis on the political economy of the Mexican carbon tax. He is a political scientist by training from the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
