First California-Germany Bilateral Energy Policy Conference takes off

High level policy makers, business and civil society experts will discuss key issues of the energy transition on 19-20 October in Sacramento.


The 2017 California-Germany Bilateral Energy Conference (CGBEC) is a joint event of the California Energy Commission (CEC) and of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). It brings high level industry experts, think tanks, and policy makers from Germany and California together to discuss recent developments, deepen the understanding of long term trends and exchange experiences with policies designed to tackle them. Furthermore, the conference will foster dialogue, strengthen networks, and increase the motivation and inspiration of key stakeholders who have a leading role in the energy transition of their respective countries and regions.

adelphi with its partners GACC West and RAP have conceived and organized the CGBEC; in close collaboration with BMWI, CEC and with the California Independent System Operation (CAISO). This event is funded by BMWi within a project supporting its energy dialogue with the USA and other countries.

The CGBEC takes place back to back with the CAISO Stakeholder Symposium, the largest gathering of energy industry professionals in the West of the United States.
