First G-MOSAIC User Workshop

On 23-25 June 2010, a Europe-wide user workshop of the G-MOSAIC project took place at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre in Ispra, Italy The aim was to gain a deeper and global understanding of all the Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES) security-related services.

This event was directed at representatives from institutions and organizations involved in security-related activities: European Union institutions, Member States’ National Ministries, Intelligence Centres, Armed Forces and international as well as national civil organizations. For this reason, the event has been prepared with the objective to encourage interaction and fruitful dialogue between security stakeholders and G-MOSAIC consortium partners as well as within the user community itself. The users were asked to give their feedback on G-MOSAIC products through expert and high level panel discussions, and to test several new tools developed by the partners for further fine-tuning.

The aim of G-MOSAIC is to develop services to support EU external relations policies, particularly in the area of crisis management and security, as well as environment and development. Within G-MOSAIC, adelphi supports the development of indicators and analyses geo-spatial information in the field of natural resources and conflicts for the purpose of crisis early warning and monitoring.
