5 March 2024. Lena Ruthner and Anton Barckhausen will join adelphi’s management as of May 1, 2024, bolstering the leadership of adelphi, Europe's leading independent think-and-do tank.
Climate expert Lena Ruthner and long-time head of adelphi’s Energy Programme, Anton Barckhausen, will bring not only their technical expertise but also their management qualities to adelphi’s management. Their expertise and experience will bring fresh perspectives to adelphi’s leadership. They will join the management team along with Managing Directors Mikael Henzler, Walter Kahlenborn, and Benno Gerhardus.
Lena Ruthner previously led adelphi's Green and Circular Economy Programme, supporting policy makers and businesses in transitioning to a low-carbon, resource-efficient, and circular economy. With over 18 years of experience in climate, energy, and circular economy policy as well as diplomacy, she brings not only comprehensive expertise but also new perspectives from her many years of work in various consulting firms, government institutions, and NGOs to the organisation.
