EXTENDED DEADLINE: 20/11/2017 - Join the working group led by adelphi to co-design an innovative training for Polish municipalities on sustainable, resource efficient revitalisation. Support the participatory design of the training modules and become a workshop facilitator.
Although sustainable development, including energy- and resource efficiency, is defined by the Partnership Agreement signed between Poland and the European Commission as horizontal criteria for every investment conducted under the current structural funding (2014-2020), so far, revitalisation projects have mainly followed a socio-economic goal only. The low-emission transition, air pollution challenges, and energy efficiency are mentioned in major Polish strategical documents; yet these aspects are not included in the section on revitalisation. This, in turn, sheds uncertainty on the local revitalisation implementation processes. In the long term, the lack of prominence and concrete provisions for energy- and resource efficiency may lock Polish cities in unsustainable development patterns and infrastructures.
REVIPOWER addresses this discrepancy: The overarching goal of the project is to use the strengthening of the sustainability component to exploit the interdisciplinary transformative potential of urban renewal in cities, while fulfilling the criteria of the EU Structural Funds. Within the framework of this project, adelphi is looking for Polish experts to co-design an innovative training for Polish municipalities on sustainable, resource efficient revitalisation.
