To better assess Germany's use of resources in the context of global parameters, an alignment with planetary boundaries is necessary. In this German-language preliminary study, we discuss the scientific approach to such a comparison, using the example of abiotic raw materials. We show various approaches to scaling down planetary boundaries to the German context and provide guidelines on which information from environmental performance evaluations will be necessary to map environmental impacts. Currently, climate change is the planetary boundary that constrains the use of raw materials the most.
